I bet the thread alone for this 35″x 60″ quilt with the wonderful feather quilting and meander cost close to $20 – never mind fabric, batting and time….
We have Great quilts
Our guild is great at producing quilts, we auction 50-60 quilts each year and over a 100 items in the silent auction. We just don’t have the buying base to sell all our things for the price they deserve!
I love a great deal – but prefer that quilters see their hard work appreciated and to make $$$ for our three great charities:
- Assistance League of SLO county (helps schoolchildren)
- Operation Surf (helps vets)
- Almond Country Quilt Guild (helps the quilting arts)
Help Me Bring People In
Are you on Facebook?
Here are some easy ways to help –
1- If you haven’t already, like our page.
to do that click on ACQGuild and then push that like button on the bottom left. (You may need to sign into FB)
2- Be interested or going to our “Quilt Auction”. Then share it to your feed.
You can find the event by clicking here: Quilt Auction Event
3- When I posts quilts for the auction, engage with them:
“like”
“comment”
“share”
Liking, commenting and especially sharing posts and the Holiday Auction Event is important because Facebook’s machine learning interprets “likes”, “comments” and “sharing” as “this stuff is important and good stuff” and then it starts adding those posts to the feed of more people – friends of friends and even strangers who seem to like the things you do. If we do this we can go viral and have an auction where there are bidding wars for all our quilts!
Many of us don’t want to push advertising onto other people’s feed – but really, sharing 3 or so of the prettiest or more meaningful quilts makes the world a better place.
Facebook’s makes sure you see a certain number of posts even if you have no friends. If it isn’t a quilts, it will be someone’s lunch or some crazy diet. This dietitian/quilter has made her peace with that and I think your friends and friends of friends might like the change too!
If you are not on Facebook you can still pick up some bookmarks and ask to leave some at any business you frequent. They can go on bulletin boards, in coffee shops, gyms etc.
